The Challenge: Lifting the new retractable roof into place.
Solution: To create a seamless transition from inside to outside, 600x600x20mm Porcelain Tiles with a Travertine finish were chosen to match the existing internal tiles. The Elmich Concealed Paver Retainer (CPR) was selected to prevent wind uplift from dislodging the tiles.
When wind rushes down the face of a building, it creates a negative air pressure zone that can lift tiles from the standard Versipave or Versijack pedestal system. The Elmich CPR addresses this issue by ensuring the pavers remain secure. The corner plates of the CPR are designed to prevent the paver adhesive from contacting the pedestal, allowing individual pavers to be easily removed and replaced by simply removing the central fastening screw and lifting the tile.
Using the Elmich CPR in exposed or high-risk situations provides peace of mind to builders and building managers.
