It is perhaps not surprising that the owners of this mud brick house in inner city Melbourne commissioned Hamish Knox and Associates to incorporate a Green Roof as part of an extensive renovation project.
The house, which is heritage listed, gained a second story extension as part of this project and a Green Roof over the existing residence.
The beauty of this project is that the Green Roof serves a number of functions –
- It provides thermal benefits for the existing, 1st story home
- A great aesthetic and view for 2nd story glassed areas
- A viable and easily accessible vegetable garden for the residents
