KHD

When Banyule Council approached KHD regarding stone for a balcony space, the brief was clear, the stone needed to be laid on paver supports and pass a compression test. The test was needed as the stone would be subject to cleaning by council machinery. KHD suggested and ultimately supplied Porcelain pavers and laid on VersiPave.

The balconies were located at the WaterMarc Leisure Centre, which is an impressive building in the outer Melbourne suburb of Greensborough. The council offices operate above the leisure centre and the areas in question are part of that council office space.

Porcelain Pavers are growing in popularity as the prints and colours manufactured on the porcelain surface are indistinguishable from natural stone to the untrained eye. Having worked with stone most of his career, at times Ken also finds it hard to tell the difference.

The testing results exceeded the project requirements and KHD supplied 600x600x20mm Palanos (grey) and Santorini (black) pavers for this project. KHD also supply porcelain pavers in Tinos (beige) and Maroni (sandstone).
